Quang Trung Software Park

The GNOME.Asia Summit 2009 takes place in the Quang Trung Software Park in Ho Chi Minh City, which is a hub for future technologies including software services that was set up with favourable conditions by the Vietnamese government.

Quang Trung Software Park is a software park situated in District 12. The park is approximately 30 minutes from down town Saigon and hosts software enterprises and dot.com companies. The park also includes a software training school. Dot.com investors here are supplied with other facilities and services such as residences, high speed access to internet as well as favorable taxation. This park helps the city in particular and Vietnam in general to be an outsourcing place for other enterprises and more mature markets in countries in Europe and the US.

Some 300,000 businesses, including many large enterprises, are involved in high-tech, electronic, processing and light industries in HCM. Investment is trended to hi-tech and services. Intel invested about 1 billion dollars in a factory in the city.
